Kaled Mutant (Doctor Who)

A Dalek is a war machine, a weaponised life support tank for a creature once like us, but devastated by war. These creatures originate from the planet Skaro, they were once known as Kaleds, until their chief scientist, Davros ended the war by mutating his people from upright Humanoid creatures to a disgusting, slimy squid-like monster, conditioned to hate anything that is different. From then on, the Kaled race was known throughout the Universe as the Dalek race, the ultimate in racial cleansing.

This redesign was made through a discussed description between me and a peer. Once I drew a sketch it was met with positivity.
I've drawn the Kaled Mutant inspired by 80's Doctor Who serial 'Resurrection of the Daleks' in which a Dalek faction breaks into a prison ship to capture their creator. They are met with heavy fire from the Humans on board and are forced to retreat after a few Dalek units are destroyed, leaving the Kaled occupant exposed and their life support cut off.

It was agreed that the Dalek should have Crustacean like claws, previously shown in 'Remembrance of the Daleks' when an exposed mutant attacks the Doctor (Sylvester McCoy).
